Stress Management

Stress management is easier said than done. Stress can be accumulated just about anywhere. If you are not careful about it, it can be too late when you realize that you did not institute a stress release mechanism in your life. Stress is natural in life. It is even backed up by a physiological function for survival inside the body. This is the reason why managing it is important. You really cannot just eradicate it in your life as you would surely fail and just give you undue frustrations.

Management of the stress levels and making sure it is channeled out your system effectively is the secret in living a well balanced life. So where does managing stress begin? It all begins where the real battle actually is fought – your mind.

Stress management is considering the fact that stress is a constant barrage from day to day activities. Just by losing your car keys in a time where you are seriously running late can get your stress reaction going at full force. So the realization of making sure you are in complete control of your mental faculties in the midst of this desperate situation is important. The fact is you being stressed out will never get you to the office in time. Just accept the fact that you missed your time frame and that losing the key is just a random event that does not have anything to do with your being late per se.

Breathing exercises are good tools for stress management. Once you feel your heart is pumping too fast that makes you breathe more rapidly and in a more shallow way, just stop at what you are doing, sit straight in a chair and begin to inhale deeply through your nose. You should feel your stomach expanding as you do this and focus your attention there. Pause for a while and release the air through your mouth, again feeling your stomach with your hand. This can regulate you breathing when done several times and should give you a more normal feeling to do something more important than worrying and stressing yourself too much, like finding the key for your car.
